I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! It got so busy for me and my family this year and I wish I had gotten to blog more but it was just very important to me to spend as much time with my family as possible. As I get older, I realize Christmases change slightly year after year and I wanted to make sure I savored as much of this year as possible! I’m curled up in my bed while typing this, the day after Christmas in “recovery mode” as I like to call it. I’m going to share some pictures of what my December looked like and I’ll try to explain what they are a little bit. I just wanted to say Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and spend time with your families and loved ones! Bye for now!
As part of my sisters Christmas gift, she has been wanting a bow and arrow to shoot. So my parents surprised her by taking us out for a day to have a class where we were taught how to shoot! It was actually really fun and interesting. It’s so gratifying when you hit that spot! And there is so much you have to think about and lots of variables that affect the bow and the arrow while you are just standing there holding it! Everyone should try this! (Just call me Katniss) Then! we went to the Charlotte Motor Speedway because they do a huge light show every year every night in December! This was my family’s first time and it was actually really amazing! The lights were set to music on the radio, they played A Christmas Story (on the night we went) on the big screen, and they had a Christmas Village in the middle! We stopped, got a yummy smores funnel cake, walked through a petting zoo, my sister rode a camel (yes they had one) and then we finished the rest of the lights! It was really fun!
My two best friends and I had our annual Christmas get together. Taylor is home from college and it was so nice getting to see her! We walked through the Christmas lights in McAdenville, aka Christmastown, USA. Apparently it is a nationally known Christmas “event” or “thing to do” (except its literally just a tiny town in my hometown that I have seen do this my entire life so I don’t know how many people actually know it). The whole town (which is not very big) does up the houses and the shops and the trees in lights, the fire station gives out hot chocolate, its really great! (Traffic is terrible though). Our Christmas tradition! Then Abby, Taylor, and I just chilled at my house and watched movies all night. It was pretty fun!
Mom, Serena, and I (a little bit) baked Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve Eve! Serena is literally a little artist because look at this cookie! It’s amazing!!
Our new Christmas Eve pajamas mom gets us every year! We had just came back from my cousins house up the street. We went to do Christmas with them and have a very lovely dinner.
Christmas day! This was at our grandparents house. We opened our gifts and did “Santa” (yes we still do Santa, its the spirit of Christmas!!) at our house then went to our grandparents for lunch with the rest of our family. My grandpa read us the Christmas story from the book of Luke, we opened gifts, and then we played a fun game of “Christmas Carol Pictionary” which is a game they made up but it was very fun. I love spending time with family. I love Christmas so very much! It’s my favorite time of year!
P.S.
We got Baxter a new bed for Christmas. It took all day but late last night he finally got on it by himself and stayed for awhile!! Merry Christmas everyone! Until Next Year!
