Hi sweet friends! It has been a LONG TIME. I miss this little space. I have no excuse other than I got super busy and other things took a higher priority. BUT I am so ready to get back into blogging and recording my thoughts here.
SO since the last time I updated y’all. I graduated from college in December of 2018 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and minor in Psychology.
Before I graduated, I actually interviewed for a teaching position and got a job! I was (and am) so proud of myself! I even got to go on a snow tubing field trip with the class before I officially took the position. It was really fun and great to meet the kids.
I’m not going to take for ever to detail everything that has happened since then but I will give you the highlights! I started teaching my second grade class right after Christmas break, so since January. It has been a crazy, crazy rollercoaster but I appreciate every minute of it! I have learned so so much. Much more than I learned in school, for sure.
We got to do so many fun things in second grade. I loved getting to student teach in a second grade class AND start teaching in second grade, so it evened out to a full second grade year! We went on many field trips (Tweetsie Railroad, library, weather station, trampoline park, etc.), did many projects (Living History Museum, Fairytale Land Theme park), we ROCKED testing and I loved on those babies the whole six months!
I LOVED getting to work with the team that I did. These two women were so welcoming, accepting, and helpful in my first months of experience. I will forever be grateful to them. Thankfully, I will be able to continue teaching at the same school! I will be moving grade levels to first but I am honestly so excited for something new and fresh to make my own! I will definitely keep y’all updated on my new adventures and new classroom. I am so excited! I also get to work with two new amazing women on our new grade level team and I CANNOT wait! I’ll also just be down the hall from my old team so not too far!
Now I’ve begun my first year officially from the beginning! I am in first grade and my classroom is Peter Pan themed. I can give you a class tour later on a different post. It’s been a crazy first month of school!
I have really missed blogging and sharing my thoughts here. I really do truly plan to share things and keep y’all up to date! However, I also have experienced the craziness of the teaching world so I’m not going to promise scheduled posts weekly and things like that! My goal is to update and share as much as I possibly can!
Here is to new things, new adventures, a great new year, and all things awesome! Our family also got a dog this summer! Meet our German Shepherd, Diesel!
