You may not know this, but one of my favorite hobbies is reading! There is nothing like getting lost in a good book.  Last weeks (UPDATE it’s been a couple weeks tbh oops), I went on my family vacation at the beach and I brought some fun books to read! My time is going to get a lot busier here soon, so I’m going to make a point to read all the books in my current TBR pile (especially the library books because those have to be returned haha!)

I figured I would just share the books that I brought with me and that I planned to read on the trip and also back at home! There’s quite a few books. What can I say? I’m ambitious. So let’s get this list started!

(also, because I like organizing, I’m going to break this into categories!)

Beach Reads

I don’t know if it’s just me that does this or what but when I’m at the beach, I like to read books that are set at the beach. Or at the very least, set in the summer time. My sister and mom do this too so maybe it’s just us! Let me know if you do something similar!

Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella

Finished this one yesterday!! It’s a great, hilarious, and easy read! I recommend! This is also the same author of the Shopaholic series, which I haven’t read (loved the movie) but now I want to read her other stuff!

Spies, Lies, and Allies by Lisa Brown Roberts

A Totally Awkward Love Story by Tom Ellen and Lucy Ivison

I just picked up both of these at Barnes & Noble. They both sounded really cute and fun to read!

Library Reads

These books are just some that I found interesting, generally my go-to type of books and ones I found at the library.

To Catch a Killer by Sheryl Scarborough

I just finished this one (on the trip back home!) It was really good and I’m excited to read more of these characters! So many Bones vibes (which is one of my favorite shows ever!)

Firefight-Brandon Sanderson

Calamity- Brandon Sanderson

Both Firefight and Calamity are a part of a trilogy (Books 2 & 3) called The Reckoners. The first book, Steelheart  , I read a couple of weeks ago so I picked up the other two books to finish up the trilogy!

Nobody– Jennifer Lynn Barnes

I love Jennifer Lynn Barnes (The Naturals Series is LIFE) so I decided to pick this one up, even though it’s not brand new because ALL books can be great no matter when published!

Truly Devious– Maureen Johnson

I have always loved reading Maureen Johnson’s books too! 13 Little Blue Envelopesa and Girl at Sea were some of my favorites in 7th grade! This new one sounds amazing, and I also saw that Jennifer Lynn Barnes tweeted this book was a great choice for her readers!

Miscellaneous

These book choices are different and sometimes random, mostly books that I bought for myself!

Take the Key and Lock Her Up– Ally Carter

This is the third book in the Embassy Row trilogy and I’m excited to finally read the ending! I always love a good Ally Carter.

Caraval-Stephanie Gerber

I’ve heard so much about this beautifully covered book and my mom enjoyed it, so that means something right?

Not if I Save You First- Ally Carter

Ally Carter’s first standalone! Listen, I told y’all I love her. Her Gallagher Girls series is what made me love reading chapter books, it introduced my to YA, and she’s the first author I remember loving! I read every book she writes! It’s like meeting up with an old friend every time I read her books.

Crazy Rich Asians-Kevin Kwan

Happy Teachers Change the World-Katharine Weare and Thich Nhat Hanh

I know I’ve got my hands full trying to read all this as quick as I can but hey, I like a challenge sometimes. I’ve already read 2/13 and I’m working on number 3!

What books are on your TBR list? Are there any books I should add to my list? Let me know!

xoxo Ariana

  1. The beach reads look so interesting (yep, I’m judging a book by its cover!) but I feel like I never read! I’ve always loved reading and I so want to get back into it. I really want to read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before after watching the movie on Netflix plus its sequels.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment Madison! It makes me happy to see you in my comments! 🙂 Girl, truthfully, we all judge books by the cover (especially a this time in life because there’s not a lot of time!) I definitely want to read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before because the movie was just AMAZING and revived my love for romcoms!
