Hello there! If you have stuck around, I commend you! Thank you for sticking around and coming back! My goal is to build up some posts and publish once a week but I truly think I’ll have to build up to that. Anyways! It’s so good to finally get back to writing on here. I haven’t forgot about my sweet little space on the internet! I think I’m going to start calling these “Let’s Get Cozy” sessions because I seem to ramble for a bit (sorry y’all! maybe go get a snack!)

School

This spring semester and basically school really sort of took over my life. I took a full load (6 classes, 18 credits) and I was buuuuusyyy! I got to meet the teacher who’s classroom I will be in for student teaching and work with her and her students all semester, once a week. I LOVE my mentor teacher! She’s amazing and the school is wonderful! I love everyone I meet there. I also loved getting to know one bunch of kids and really see them grow over just a small little semester.

I took a summer class for the whole month of June. It was a psych class to help me finish my minor before student teaching in the fall. I’m gonna be real with y’all, this class was NOT easy. I struggled, I cried, I prayed, and I studied my behind off to pass so I could student teach. Now that it’s over (hallelujah!!!), I am happy to report that I passed!!! I am so happy and grateful for that fact because last month was such a struggle because of it.

I am student teaching this fall semester in second grade!! I am so excited. To think that this time, a year ago, I had just completed my first semester in the Elementary Education program. I remember excitement, fear, some self-doubt, prayers, and hopefulness. Here I am a year later, with so much more knowledge and confidence not only in teaching but also in myself in general! There is still self-doubt sometimes. Definitely fear but also definitely excitement. I just can’t believe I’m at this point finally! I’ll definitely keep you updated on my student teaching journey as I can.

Social

My best friend got married y’all!! So along with a crazy school schedule, I was also planning bridal showers, parties, and helping her prepare for the big day! It was so fun, beautiful, and amazing. I am so proud to have Abby as my best friend and so happy for her and her sweet husband Mitchell.

I also was so blessed and happy to be able to volunteer at my church for VBS! We had over one hundred kids and 80 volunteers. I was a crew leader (go crew 13!!). Three of my kids asked Jesus into their heart and one of my kids got baptized the following Sunday! Even though it was exhausting, it was so much fun to actually see it impact children’s lives and I got to bond with other people in the church too!

Abby and I saw Jesse McCartney in concert in Charlotte a week ago! A childhood dream of hers (and lets be honest, mine too! Isn’t it everyone’s?!) He put on an AMAZING show! So much high energy and it totally made me forget about my aching feet. And the sunburn. And bug sting. And exhaustion. Worth it! Especially with my best friend and concert buddy for life!

Personal

I’ve been reading the same book for over a month because I literally haven’t had time between the class, VBS, and just normalĀ  life! I’m currently reading Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson. It’s pretty good so far!

I saw Ocean’s 8 and loved it!! I loved all the “new-ness” but also how they tied in little nuances from the original movies. I also saw The Incredibles 2 and it was, well, incredible!! I can’t wait to buy it when it comes out!! I still have yet to see Jurassic World 2 but that’s the next one on my list.

My little sister graduated high school! I can’t believe it!! I cried through the entire ceremony, of course. She is going to attend the local community college to figure out what things she is interested in, which is exactly what I did! I may get her to help me write some college posts soon.

Well that’s all I have for now! I’ll try to keep my Instagram and Twitter updated more frequently, along with the blog! Please, let me know what type of posts you would like me to write more of, I would love some inspiration!

And of course, happy July 4th everyone! Have fun and be safe! I am so thankful to be a part of this wonderful country! Even with all of the problems, past and present, there is no other place I would want to live than American the beautiful!

xoxo Ariana
